WHY CHOOSE CHESHIRE EAST SCITT?
The Cheshire East SCITT offers an 11-16 training programme with post 16 experience.

Our belief is simple: classrooms are diverse, and the teachers we train should be, too. We don't just accept differences—we celebrate them. No matter your background, age, identity, or path into teaching, there is a place for you here.
Training to teach is a journey, and we make sure you never walk it alone. From day one, you will have a dedicated mentor, access to tailored wellbeing support, and a community of peers cheering you on. Whether you are a career changer juggling family life, a recent graduate finding your feet, or require specific learning adjustments, we work with you to make sure you succeed.
Trainees are placed in a range of highly supportive and inspirational learning environments to enable them to develop the rigour, professional knowledge and skills necessary for the delivery of creative and challenging teaching and learning. Our training sessions are delivered by expert colleagues, most of whom work within our partner schools and so they will be sharing with you what they know works in the classroom.
Cheshire East SCITT is based at Holmes Chapel Comprehensive School and works in partnership with 19 high-performing schools in Cheshire East and Staffordshire.

Some of these schools are nestled within the beautiful Cheshire countryside but can be accessed easily from the M6 and frequent train routes from Crewe and Manchester.
Being attached to a high school means that you will have opportunities to work with our students on training days and observe lessons within the school. For example, when we look at supporting EAL pupils, our trainees get to meet some of them to discuss the challenges they face and the support they appreciate.

“Staff are always on hand to help trainees out. Staff and trainees are unequivocally proud to be a part of this SCITT. The SCITT’s trainees are sought after in the local area and they are valued by
employers. Many trainees quickly go on to take leadership responsibilities in their
employing schools.”
