CASE STUDY – Ross
What’s your background?
I was a teaching assistant whilst at university and continued in this role after I
Why did you decide to teach?
It is something I wanted to do from the age of 15 - I just felt like it was
something I would enjoy and be good at.
What do you like about teaching?
I like making a difference to young people's lives and helping them to mould
a future that they will be happy with.
Why did you choose the School Centred Initial Teacher Training route?
I chose the SCITT as I knew the Alliance schools were good or outstanding schools who were committed to making teachers become even better, and that was something I wanted to be a part of. I didn’t want to learn to teach in a lecture hall, I wanted to learn in a school environment and get straight into lessons.
How are you finding it?
I am really happy with the course and my placement school. I could not ask for better support from all of the team back at the Training Centre in Holmes Chapel and with my placement school - they are all amazing.
What do you look forward to?
I am looking forward to finishing the course and getting my qualifications to be a teacher.
